Mine 21 Documentary
In the fall of 2018, the Whitwell Marion County Coal Miners Museum was approached by Kelsey Arbuckle and Alexa Fults—two students at The University of the South—to take part in their documentary about the Mine 21 explosion.
Arbuckle's grandfather, Charles Myers, was one of the thirteen miners who lost their lives in Mine 21, and this personal connection to the accident and the surrounding community led Arbuckle and Fults to learn more about the aftermath of the Mine 21 tragedy.

Arbuckle and Fults interviewed several of the retired miners who run the Miners Museum, including JT Shadrick who was on the Mine Rescue Team at the time of the accident.
